First graders took a long look at Hundertwasser, a very eco-minded artist who liked to incorporate plants into his art AND his architecture. They made some very creative landscapes and colored them with some fun Hundertwassery colors

Pics!
5th Grade working on their radial symmetry designs. They put their design on a foil square and painted it to show the detail.

SO MUCH GOING ON!!!
We have so many things happening in 2017, I can't keep up!
Here's a recap of some of our awesome activities:
Kinder - We are painting rainbows and drawing fun lines. This is great practice for painting in between the lines, which I am happy to report, they are doing a swell job of!
1st - We just finished a few weeks on turtles! They each made a clay turtle with texture and painted it. We drew habitats for our turtles, which included foxtails, tall grasses and lilypads.
2nd - We wrote our own small books, and illustrated them. Next, we are creating ice cream sundae collages!
3rd - We are working on aboriginal paintings. We watched a funny video about this awesome Australian art, traced our hands, and we are off!
4th - We just finished working on shading shapes to make them 3D, and are just starting collographs. This form of printmaking is super fun and easy.
5th - We've been so busy! We studied balance and symmetry, then created radial designs on foil squares. Next we made some sweet chandeliers out of water bottles.
6th - Rolled paper sculptures were taking over this classroom! We just finished those, after we painted self portraits with different values of the same hue. Next up...wire designs!
Coming up! We are prepping for our Spring Art Show! More info coming soon :)
